Herbert Park Hotel Christmas Installation 2002

A Winter Wonderland, created in conjunction with artist Paul Monaghan, musician Denis Roche and photographer Con O'Donoghue. The entrance and lobby areas of the hotel were redecorated with large digital prints of bare trees, infused with the blues and blacks of sapphires, combined with grades of blue lighting throughout. Con's beautiful lightboxes showing Mayo lakes frozen over created patches of white light around the exterior and behind the reception, and perspex Cubes packed with holly and ivy directed visitors though to the rear Bar area. The atmosphere was completed by the addition of a specially composed minimalist woodland soundtrack by Denis.
