Advice on farm21 products

farm21 pieces are not suitable for outdoor use or in ‘wet’ rooms (kitchens/bathrooms etc)

They are designed as artistic objects, not as toys, and should not be stood on or jumped on.

We use natural materials, which can be subject to minor changes such as settling. Likewise, although we choose organic materials with proven colour strength, direct sunlight can lead to colour fading so should be avoided.

We do our best to prevent condensation by placing silica within our pieces to absorb any excess moisture. However, if left in direct sunlight condensation may temporarily occur.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Acrylic (lucite/plexiglas/perspex) is a wonderful material but it does require maintenance to maximize its beauty. Fingermarks seem to be the worst culprit, along with dust.

The best way to keep the acrylic clean is to wipe the surface with ‘anti-static’ liquid or spray using a lint-free cloth, which is available from most good computer shops. The best branded product we recommend is NOVUS – call (800) 548-6872 for the nearest distributor in the US. Soap and water also works, but the anti-static is better as it helps prevent dust clinging to the surface.

Avoid chemical-based furniture polishes and products containing acetone (eg nail varnish remover).

For small scratches turtle wax (from car garage shops) also works wonders, and may be useful every couple of months. For deeper scratches and more ‘permanent’ looking damage we advise you contact us here at fam21 for a professional clean.
